Two weeks ago, I was assigned an English project in the spirit of Henry David Thoreau, author of Walden, a series of essays ranging from economics to lifestyle. What Thoreau did, for those of you who don't know, was, in the 1800's, he went to live by Walden Pond near Concord MA. He built himself a shack, costing him a total of $28.12 and lived off the land for two years.
The project was to, in any way you wanted, make a change in your life for two weeks to better your life in some way. This could be exercising, reading a poem everyday, eating healthy... I chose to devote a decent amount of time to photographing things in and around my house, things I take for granted. This was in efforts to appreciate what I am lucky enough to have in my life by taking a closer look at things.
In all, this was a fairly large success- and as a bonus, I got to go around taking pictures in the name of homework. All together during the two-week period, I took about 150 photographs. Here, I've only put up what I consider the best of the selection and my personal favorites.
