I finally got a DSL camera! I went over to Hunt's Photo & Video in Fenway Circle (or is it Square; I'm not quite sure) with my dad after doing some research online. Below are the "specs" (it's a tech term, I guess) of what we ended up with.
- Nikon DS3100 (plus neck-strap, charger, ect.) - It's supposed to be a good beginning camera and has a built in tutorial system, which the store clerk thought was very well done.
- AF-S DX VR NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G - Truth be told, I don't really know what all that means... But it came with the camera as a sort of starters' kit, which is a good sign. It's supposed to be good for simple, everyday use.
- 16 GB memory card - Kinda huge; I know. But it was only a buck more than the 8 GB one, so we figured why not?
- and a nifty little bag for carrying it all around
I'm charging up the battery now, so hopefully I can start experimenting with all the features/settings and such later today or tomorrow.
